Network engineers needed to be up-skilled to relate the Vyatta network virtualization software to physical hardware, and to contextualize the Vyatta Network Operating System with older, similar familiar tools.
Because the software uses a text-based Command Line Interface (CLI), user-interactive simulations weren’t constructive for demonstration or practice. The effective and rapidly developed solution was instead a Web-based Articulate Rise course with screen recording walk-throughs of the interface and common tasks with ad-libbed narration presented by a lead subject matter expert. Graphics and text were overlaid atop the CLI screen recordings to provide reinforcement and context.
